|
| 2Day 5-7 Xian: |
Xi'an was known as Chang'an in ancient times and was the capital for at least 11 Dynasties, covering a range of 1100 years. It was where Qin Shihuang(First Emperor) founded the Qin Dynasty and unified all of China in 221BC. The lively Muslim Quarter is always full of activity and a great place for a sizzling kebab. Duck into the Great Mosque to take time out from the city bustle. Cycling the majestic Ming dynasty wall for great views over Xi'an is a great choice. On day 6, we are going to visit terra-cotta Warriors & Horses Museum. On day 9, your tour leader will show you the microcosm Chinese civilization---Shaanxi National History Museum. On day 7,free morning until we catch the afternoon train to Chengdu. It is good occasion for you to intermingle with the locals. |
|
| Day 8-10 Chengdu: |
Chengdu is famed for its spicy, oily food, and even if you request no oil or chilly, your food is still bound to make the mouth tingle. With many dishes you will notice a pleasant numbing of the tongue; this comes from the Sichuan peppercorns. Those who are weight conscious can rest assured that the Sichuan girls are also famed to be the skinniest in China, as apparently all the tea counteracts the oil. Chengdu hotpot is something that should be experienced, though its HOT!!! And anything and everything is eaten. Sichuan is also famous for its small snacks.Take time to visit the giant Panda research base or else just hang out in the city to drink tea, explore the temples and maybe get a relaxing massage. We are going to visit Leshan.Giant Buddha after we have a shot break upon check in in the hotel. On day 9, we are going to have a close touch with the Chinese national treasure-Panda in the morning and catch the day train (hard-seat) to Chongqing for boarding the Yangtze River Cruise. |

| Day13-14 Wuchang/Yangshuo: |
Day13-14 Wuchang-Yangshuo
Train to Guilin and transfer to Yangshuo Often remembered as the highlight of a trip to China, Yangshuo has some of the most spectacular scenery and relaxed atmospheres in the country. You can hop onto a bicycle and head off the beaten track for a ride into the countryside, which is like cycling through a traditional Chinese painting! Mountains, rivers, bamboo, rice paddies and water buffalo - there's something new at every turn. After all that exercise you may want to try your hand at some Chinese arts as here you can have a lesson with a local expert in calligraphy, watercolor painting, cooking, tai chi, kung fu or even try and learn a little of the Chinese language. Then in the evening it's time to relax for a meal or a drink in one of the many cafe's that line the famous West Street or perhaps watch the spectacular Liu San Jie show.
