We are going to start our tour from Beijing,the present capital of China,where a place full of old and new, such as Great Wall,Forbidden City,Summer Palace, The Bird's Nest,the Silk street,Sanlitun Bar area, etc.Then we are going to take our odyssey train to Lhasa,which will take 48 hours. Lhasa, as a lot of people called,the "pure land".the roof of the world, Mecca of Buddhism,we are going to find our own definition about this mythical land by a 7 days stay in this tranquility land. After our mental bath of this religious area, we are going to Chengdu, where the Paradise of spicy food and Pandas. A short stay in Chengdu will followed by a leisure cruise from Chongqing to Yichang, you can have a quick glimpse of the local people's life while cruising down the river,we will fly to Shanghai upon we finish our cruise tour in Yichang.There are a lot of thing for you to explore in this stunning modern city.Our tour finish in Shanghai,you can choose stay longer if you like. |

| Day 1-4 Beijing ： |
Arrive in Beijing at any time before the group meeting in the evening. As group members will arrive at different times there are no arranged activities On Day 1 until our group meeting in the early evening. Please see the notice board in the hotel foyer for details of this meeting. On day 2,we are going to wander in Tiananmen Square and find the real life of the old imperial family in the Forbidden City.On day 3, We are going to explore the Great Wall at Mutianyu. An incredible piece of engineering stretching almost 3000km westwards from the mountain ridges north of Beijing. It was originally constructed to protect the Chinese empires from the Mongolian'barbarians'of the north. On day 4,Catch our evening train to Lhasa in the fourth day. |

| Day 5-6 On the Train： |
We will have some stories or enjoy the scenery along the rail track;we will arrive in Lhasa at night of the 6 day,check in in the hotel and have good rest to get ready for the next day. |

| Days 7 Tibet： |
We are going to have a visit one of the Lama temple and the Barkhor Area. |
| Days 8 The Potala Palace/Landmark of Tibet： |
We are going to visit the Potala Palace.Standing lofty above the Lhasa basin, the Potala Palace is not the symbol of Lhasa alone but of all Tibet. No journey to the "Roof of the World" is complete without a visit to the world-famous Potala. The thirteen-storied ancient building built only of mortar,timber and stone dates back 1,300 years.As well as being of great historical value,the architecture itself of the Potala,and in addition its murals,stupas,carvings,sculptures and the like are witness of its being a treasury of art.The palace contains such invaluable treasures as pearls, cultural relics,"tangkas,"scrolled texts and ancient chinaware, making the Potala a repository of inestimable worth,and it is a Mecca to which the visitor can return again and again,each time experiencing fresh understandings and gains. |
| Days 9 -11 Shigatse/ The Capital Town of Tsang： |
We are going to drive to Shigatse;it will take us about 7 hours to drive.Days 10,We are going to have a visit to the Tashilhunpo Monastery and Shigatse fortress.The Magnificent Monastery of Tashilhunpo A visit to the Tashilhunpo is must for every visitor to Shigatse. This city-like monastery is the seat of the Panchan Lama,and maybe compared with the Dalai Lama's Potala Palace. It houses more than five hundred and seventy monks even to this day. Days 11,Drive back to Lhasa and stay overnight in Lhasa. |
| Days 12-13 Chengdu.： |
Fly to Chengdu.Chengdu is famed for it's spicy, oily food,and even if you request no oil or chilly, your food is still bound to make the mouth tingle. With many dishes you will notice a pleasant numbing of the tongue,this comes from the Sichuan peppercorns.Those who are weight conscious can rest assured that the Sichuan girls are also famed to be the skinniest in China, as apparently all the tea counteracts the oil. Chengdu hotpot is something that should be experienced,though its HOT!!! and anything and everything is eaten.Sichuan is also famous for its small snacks.Take time to visit the giant Panda research base or else just hang out in the city to drink tea, explore the temples and maybe get a relaxing massage.Days 13 visit the Pandas and catch a day train to Chongqing to our Yangtze river cruise. |
| Days 14-16 Yangtze river cruise： |
The Yangtze,known in China as Changjiang is the third longest river in the world (6,300 kms) after the Nile and Amazon. Originating in the far western part of China,it flows through 8 provinces with over 700 tributaries extending into a further 6 provinces.Three Gorges Dam Project Sandouping hydro-electric dam will eventually form the world's largest storage reservoir,with the dam itself being 2kms wide and 185m tall. The world's longest shipping locks are now operational but there is still a lot of work to go before the dam's completion,including a ship lift and the water further rising to 180 meters. The work has been divided into three stages,and is expected to take 17 years to complete.These stages are; Stage 1 (1993 - 1997)entailed the filling of the cofferdam and excavation of the diversion channel in the first stage construction pit.At the same time,on the left bank of the river a temporary ship lock was constructed. The water and shipping continued to follow the original river course. Stage 2 (1998 - 2003) was to construct both upstream and downstream cofferdams, electricity station facilities on the left dam and the installation of machinery.Stage 3 (2003 - 2009) During this period,the power station on the left bank and the permanent ship lock will be brought into use.The dam sections and the electricity station on the right riverbank will be constructed,and the installation of all machinery will be finished.Once the project is completed in 2009 the depth of the water in the reservoir will be 175 meters.Project Benefits.1.Flood Control:safer & improved living conditions for the millions of people who will be relocated.2.It will supply 10% of China's power needs.3.Navigation. Shanghai, China's largest and most dynamic city,has always been a city of purpose and ambition.The allure of opportunity and the heady whiff of easy wealth that lured immigrants,both foreign and domestic,to Shanghai duing its colonial heyday is heavy in the air again.. The riverfront Bund, once the showpiece of East Aisa.is back in the frame,its dignity restored through a healthy injeciton of Private capital and a reimagining as a fine dining and fashion spot.
